Would you take the time to prepare a meal
Slave over a hot stove to cook it
Then set it nicely out on the dining room table
Just to watch it rot?
Would you adopt a defenseless animal from a shelter
Take photos of you with it
Post it to Instagram
Just to drive it out into the wilderness and leave it?
Would you take weeks tearing down trees
Pulling them to a pit and placing them in it
Pour diesel all over them
To never strike the match?
Why then, would you wake a woman’s heart
Feed off her desire to be wanted
Play with her emotions
Just to walk away?
Why start a fire
You are not prepared
To put out?
