Don't Wake Me

If everything that ever happened

I could reverse

Or make it

So it never happened

From the moment of my conception

Until right now

I would choose not to.

 

Seeds that were planted within me

Grew with no support at all

They were never cared for

Never nourished

Yet they grew to be this monumental achievement.

 

You cannot hide the light within people

But you can make them believe it isn’t there

Yet it always shines

Whether anyone sees it

Or not.

 

Strength comes from once being weak

As loyalty comes from once being disloyal

We learn from what we do

That then becomes what we are.

 

If all of this is just a dream

And waking me would erase it all

Then don’t wake me

I’ve learned too much.
