He Could Have Saved Me

There where whispers

Of inadaquacies

How a woman

Born of sin

Raised by demons

Could possibly

Do anything.

There were shadows

That followed me

They were everywhere

Reminding me

How I don’t fit in

How I’m not the thinnest

Perhaps a curse?

A bastards curse?

There were many

That lied

Did nothing

But took things

Valuable things

I’ll never get back.

Things I wish

I had protected more.

Some things

I wish her unattainable

To anyone

He could have saved me

Could have taken me away

Taught me about life

All of the things

Most take for granted.

He could have been my savior

If only he tried.
