If You Don’t Know

If you don’t know what I’m fighting for
How many times I slammed the door.
If you just think I’m this crazy bitch
That has a random switch.
Maybe you think I’ve won the war
Or you wonder what I’m fighting for?

If you don’t know what a toll it took
When I got taken by an angry crook.
To be hated by an entire family
That only wished I wasn’t free.
If you don’t know how I struggled to find
What I lost in my own mind.
Then maybe it’s worthless now
To be pretending we’ll take a vow.

If you don’t know that I wrote a book
And what all that took.
See you gather your little wake
Have you ever been called a mistake?
If you don’t know that I love the Fall
I guess you don’t know much about me at all.
