Began to remove bits of chain
Beginning with sanctification
The hallucination of purification
That answered all creation.
Then lost the way a time or two
Listening to the cries
Tender mercies within the crux
Ending up with lies.
Beat the clock to redemption
Fought off the crazed hordes
With baited breath anticipation
And lots and lots of boards.
Settled within a dismal display
No family left intact
Just the beautiful scent of freedom
Left with one fact.
Itemized the details
So nothing could get lost
Wondered if the price I paid
Was somewhere in this frost.
Sun came out to greet me
I failed to trust the source
Embroiled in hazy indifference
That battered me, of course.
Just in time for relenting
Something within me grew
My life finally had meaning
And thus, began anew.
