When You Are Defiant, Yet Strong

You’re going to want to stand up

Face all those that did you wrong.

You’ll have to wait a while for this

When you are defiant, yet strong.

Someday you’ll sit at the table

Wondering why you got so mad.

Now you sit so happy and content

Not so alone, and sad.

First you’ll have to pay for

Trusting in the wrong man.

While you wanted love, forever..

He had another plan.

Picking up the pieces

Of a life you leave behind

Seems ever so daunting

When papers are signed.

  1. Josephine, this poem you wrote, says it all. It is so real, so true, and it happens to so many women, including me, not that is doesn’t happen to men, it does, but rarely. We also pay the price for believing.
