Maybe she’s just wonderful
And you are blind as hell.
Maybe she really had it all
And you just couldn’t tell.
Maybe she didn’t fit the bill
Or you lost your touch.
Maybe she hit the wall one too many times
And “I love you” doesn’t really mean much.
Maybe you had a plan
To just get laid
Maybe she was falling for you
You sat and watched it fade.
Maybe it would have all worked out
If you had given just a little bit.
Maybe she would have won your heart
Now she’ll just never see it.
Maybe now she’s given up
Doesn’t see her value anymore.
Maybe she’s really worried now
That they’ll just keep score.
Maybe she doesn’t want to be a notch
She wanted something meaningful
Maybe now she’ll find herself
Being beautifully single.
Haven’t been following a lot of poetry lately so figured I’d find your stuff again. 🙂
Glad you’re here too!
