Some Things

I sensed a bit of weakness in her

As she pushed her glasses up

And continued on about her day.

Things loom inside of her

People never see, or ask about

Yet it always gets in her way.

Tells me she feels suffocated

By a long and tedious life

That definitely did not go according to plan.

The secret weapon is her faith

She holds it very close to her heart

Her God is more powerful than man.

I’ve seen her at her very best

On a day when everything is right

Her soul opens and sings.

Today is not her best day

We all must forgive her for that

It isn’t always life, it is just ‘some things.’
